Yellow Yellow!

jessica illustration yellow trench coat

As we slip into Fall, I've been dreaming of sweaters and scarves, pumpkin flavored everything, crisp mornings and warm color palettes. Yellow is finding it's way into my heart more and more as it surfaces in some of my work, and I'm totally embracing it. How can you look at this color and feel anything but pure, calm joy? Oh, and after seeing the brilliant use of yellow in Sarah's Contemporary Color via Apartment Therapy, I just might have to paint an entire room with that color.

PATTERN SKETCH THREE

A fun little argyle inspired doodad, based on some cards I'm working on for the upcoming craft show! Cannot wait to share them all with you, as well as a little shop makeover...

PATTERN SKETCH TWO

Here it is - the latest pattern sketch! I've been really attracted to playing with hexagons lately - while I love polka dots, I'm trying to get away from them because I feel they are a little overdone these days.

Make It Better

Well, it's been a bad day/week. And as much as I would like to hide under the covers for a while, I'm a big believer in pushing through rough times. Today that means looking for awesome inspiration in the form of bright colors and backless dresses. And maybe a little bit of youtube-ing silly cat videos.

New surprises are on the horizon!

Jaw-dropping

Isn't the elegance of this photo just stunning?! I am in utter awe and jealous of Stanislav Odyagailo's talent and vision. And I love this pattern, too. I need desperately to get back into my photography. Who wants to model for me?!
