Tidbits of Happiness

I love that little things can brighten up a person's day in an instant. The work
and mission of Improv Everywhere is to create situations that bring people
together, and often make people smile in the meantime. Charlie Todd discussed
how he got started with it all in this fascinating talk, and I've been enamored
ever since. We need more ideas like this in the world. As Todd says, "There's
no right or wrong way to play."

This paper art by Nathalie Boutte is so incredible isn't it? I can only imagine the hours of work it took to put these gorgeous confections together. It is always astonishing to see work that is clearly thought out and carefully constructed. Check out more of her work here.

WAY UP THERE

Whoa. Check out these gorgeous images by Eric Cahan. The rich colors can transport 

you into a state of meditation. I found myself totally lost in the colors and their many 

variations. My favorites are the ones where he includes just a bit of land or cloudiness.

I HAVE A CRUSH ON

Well, I just have to go out an admit it: from the moment I laid eyes on The Hungry 

Workshop's work, I was instantly crushing on them. It started out with the discovery 

of their aerograms, and I thought 'Oh, those colors! And that pattern! Together as one, 

how wonderful!' And then when I saw their other work and well, I was in love. These 

guys rock, check 'em out for yourself. There is so much letterpress goodness going on, 

I almost can't handle it. But alas, let's celebrate great work and the fact that it's Monday!

Intergalactic Magic

Aren't these images sooooo cool?! They're from HubbleSite, where they share all kinds of cool 

images of nebulae and galaxies and other magical things. And the best part? You can download 

high resolution images from their website for yourself! I totally want one or two printed to a giant 

size and hand them in my new apartment. Don't they look like paintings? The colors and lighting 

are so awesome and whimsical. What would you do with these images? I'll be sure to share if I do

end up using them in my new home.

An Ode to Jim Henson

This portrait of him always makes me smile. He's such a huge 

inspiration, he immersed himself in so many creative endeavors and 

pursued exactly the reality he wanted. That's all I want for my life, too.
